Boerewors & Vetkoek Sticks


Things you’ll need:

Oil for deep frying 
12 kebab sticks
12 Pieces Boerewors, approx 5cm long
Vetkoek dough, or prepared bread dough
1/2 Cup chutney
Chakalaka or tomato onion relish to serve

Step 1

Preheat your 2.5 litre Stainless Steel Deep Fryer with the oil. Place a piece of Boerewors on each skewer and fry for 1-2 minutes. Drain on paper towel and allow to cool completely.

Step 2

Divide the dough into golf ball size pieces and flatten with the palm of your hand, add a teaspoon of chutney and place the Boerewors skewer on top of the dough. Wrap the dough around the Boerewors and gently squeeze it closed and sealed around the Boerewors.

Step 3

Fry the lollipops for 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towel. Serve with relish or chakalaka.
